Rajya Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: Amid the concern about cross-voting by Congress and the Samajwadi Party MLAs, the stage is set for the elections for the 15 Rajya Sabha seats across three states. Interestingly, 41 of the 56 candidates have already been elected to the Upper House unopposed due to lack of opposition, leaving seats up for voting in three states – Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh.

The polling on the remaining seats – 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Karnataka and 1 in Himachal Pradesh – will take place on Tuesday, February 27. The Polling is scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm, followed by the vote count on the same day from 5 pm onwards.

BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradesh, Union Railways Minister Ashwani Vaishnaw and former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi were among the 41 candidates who were elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed in the latest round.
