I just released this song on my record "The Fool," recorded right here (well, on the other side of this field) in my friends' cabin in Bodega, CA. I was only supposed to stay in town long enough to finish the basic tracking for the record. But a bomb cyclone blew through the studio dates, and mussed up my careful planning. The Fool indeed. More than three years later, I'm still here, just down the road, in a cabin of my own.

My sweet chariot of a minivan, which has taken me all around this country, is convalescing under a redwood grove. I wrote this song in that minivan, somewhere between West Texas and Southern New Mexico. It's about how you shouldn't date musicians. But, also, it's about how you should.

By my count, this is my 7th year entering the contest. The Fool, indeed :)
