🗒️ INGREDIENTS
8 eggs whites
2 cup powdered sugar
⅛ tsp salt
½ tsp cream of tarter
2 tsp vanilla extract
Food Coloring pink, blue, yellow
1/4 tsp Clear vanilla extract or vodka
Glitter Dust optional
📝 INSTRUCTIONS
1️⃣ Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 200°F.
2️⃣ Prepare Parchment: Trace outlines for piping meringue on the back of parchment paper. Line 3 baking sheets with the parchment paper, drawing side down.
3️⃣ Beat Egg Whites: Add egg whites to a mixing bowl. Start beating on low and gradually increase speed to high, about 4 minutes.
4️⃣ Add Salt and Cream of Tartar: Add salt and cream of tartar to the egg whites.
5️⃣ Add Sugar: Gradually add powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time.
6️⃣ Add Vanilla: Once sugar is mixed in, add vanilla extract. Beat on high speed until the meringue holds stiff peaks, about 4-5 minutes.
7️⃣ Divide Meringue: Prepare 3 glass bowls and scoop 1.5 cups of meringue into each bowl.
8️⃣ Prepare Piping Bag: Cut a small tip from the piping bag and insert a metal piping tip.
9️⃣ Color Meringue: Add a small amount of food coloring to the meringue using a toothpick and beat with a blending whisk.
🔟 Fill Piping Bag: Transfer meringue to the piping bag, one large scoop of each color at a time, ensuring no air pockets. Whisk meringue if it flattens.
1️⃣1️⃣ Pipe Meringue: Pipe meringues into the drawn outlines on the parchment paper. For meringue pops, place a lollipop stick first, then pipe meringue on top.
1️⃣2️⃣ Bake: Bake for 1 hour and let cool in the oven for an additional hour or overnight. Keep the oven door closed during the cooling process.
1️⃣3️⃣ Add Faces: Add clear vanilla and pink food coloring to a plastic palette and mix. Draw faces on unicorn pops with the mixture. Optional: dust meringue cookies with glitter dust.
