Alan Dobie is the narrator in this episode of one of television's longest-running and most successful nature documentary series. It is a strange fact that the most populous deer in Britain is also the least known. While red and fallow deer parade openly on Scottish fell and English park, the roe deer in comparison is a deer in hiding. Extremely secretive, it survives all over Britain in fields and plantations, living on the very edge of suburbia. Survival cameramen Chris Knights and Terry Andrewartha spent over two years capturing the day-to-day activities of this beautiful, elusive beast.
