2012 Intervarsity video of Shorty Khumalo, COO of SHBC

Описание: This video features Shorty Khumalo, Chief Operating Officer of Shiselweni Reformed Home-Based Care (SHBC), in one of her other SHBC roles, namely as Caregiver. SHBC is a not-for profit, faith-based organization based in Shiselweni, Swaziland. World Vision selected SHBC's Shorty Khumalo from across all home-based care organizations in Swaziland to address the Urbana Missions Conference 2012 in St Louis, Missouri, USA in 2012 on the topic of home-based care. SHBC provides the full end-to-end support chain required to establish, manage, develop and sustain home-based care and the 872 care givers in the 33 rural communities served by SHBC. In addition to its work in Shiselweni, SHBC has also presented training in home-based care to church leaders in Khayelitsha, Cape Town (South Africa). SHBC has been identified by Prof. Robin Root, a medical anthropologist and public health researcher at Baruch College, City University of New York, as a "best practices case study" in a project to explore the high impact potential of faith-based organisations in southern Africa; specifically, to improve and extend the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
