Gameplay from the upcoming Pirate-themed survival game Windrose. Windrose Crew have offered up a free demo of this Pirate Valheim survival game they've been cooking up and this video shows off some gameplay and some of the features I found in the first two hours with the game.

I enjoyed Windrose and found myself wanting to hop right back in after I put the controller down. Windrose looks great for an indie game, the crafting & survival elements are solid so far, and I could see the base-building in a world of pirates being fantastic. I mean it's just hard to beat the Pirate aesthetic. And there's a fairly substantial character creation component to get your swashbuckling pirate looking just right.

I found the combat to be a little flimsy, though, the base-building mechanics are not as intuitive as I'd like, and resource gathering is pretty time-intensive. Overall, this Windrose demo was solid and I can understand where the hype around it is coming from.
