Third round of 2001 World Rally Championship. Tommi Mäkinen and Carlos Sainz would brawl for the victory in epic fight which was decided in the last stage. Tommi would claim his second win of the season ahead of Sainz.
This time Harri Rovanperä would be the one who got hit by the Peugeot jinx and he retired when his engine blew on the road section to service. Marcus Grönholm would score his first points of the season by finishing 3rd. Colin McRae would retire once again he was still without points. Alister McRae would finish sixth though and claim his first points for Hyundai.
