আজকের ভিডিওতে আমাদের আলোচ্য বিষয় ভগবান শিবের মাস তথা শ্রাবণ মাসে কোন কোন খাবার খাওয়া নিষিদ্ধ। হিন্দু পুরাণ মতে এই শ্রাবণ মাসে হয়েছিল সমুদ্র মন্থন যাতে হলাহল বিষ পান করেছিলেন স্বয়ং দেবাদিদেব মহাদেব। শ্রাবণ মাসের বিধি অনুযায়ী কিছু নির্দিষ্ট খাদ্য রয়েছে যা গ্রহণ না করাই ভালো। বিশেষত্ব ব্রত পালনের সময় এবং শিব পূজার সময় কয়েকটি খাবার খেতে নেই এমনটাই বলে শাস্ত্র। শ্রাবণ মাসের প্রতি সোমবার ভগবান শিবের বিশেষ পুজো হয় এবং ভক্তরা শিবলিঙ্গে জল ঢালেন।

For many Hindus, the month of Shraavana is a month of fasting. Many Hindus will fast every Monday to the Lord Shiva and/or every Tuesday to the Goddess Parvati. The Sawan Somwar Vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is very auspicious. The month of Shravan is associated with the Samudra Manthan or the churning of the cosmic ocean. When the Devas and the Asuras churned the sea to obtain Amrit (nectar of immortality), Halahala (venom) emerged from the ocean bed. To save the universe from its ill-effects, Lord Shiva drank the poison.
