Government issued orders on raising the maximum age limit prescribed in the
Telangana state and subordinate Service Rules, 1996 foi appoiniment by direct
recruitment by "Ten years" i.e., from 34 years to 44 years, for a period of 2 years, to
the various categories of posts to be notified for the purpose of direct recruitment, vide
G.O. second read above,
2. A number of representations have been received from unemproyed youth, for
consldering relaxation of upper age limit for direct recruitment to enable more
unemployed youth to become eligible for recruitment to the various categories of
posts.
:. The Secretary, Telangana State public Service Commission, Hyderabad in the
letter third read above, inter alia, has requested the Government to raise the maximum
age limit for the posts other than the Uniform services, further by two (2) years in
addition to ten (10) years already raised in the G.O. 2nd read above.
4. Government after careful examination of the matter, have decided to raise the
maximum age limit frcm 44 years to 46 years to other than Uniform services, for a
period of two years.
5. Accordingly, the following notiflcation shall be published in the Telangana state
Gazette, dated : 08.02.2024: -
NOTIFICATTON
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Aticle 309 of the
constitution of India, the Governor of relangana hereby makes the following Ad-
hoc rule, namely:-
AD-HOC RULE
Notwithstanding anything contained in the Telangana state and subordinate
Service Rules, 1996 or in the special or Ad-hoc Rulei for state and subordinate
services, the maximum age limit prescribed in the said rules for appointment by
direct recruitment shall be raised further by,,two (2) years,,in aOOition to ,,ten
(10) years" already raised in the ad-hoc ruie issued vide G.O.Ms.No.42, General
Administration (Ser.A) Department, dated:19.03.2O22, for a period of 2 years from the date of issue of this ad-hoc rule to the various categories of posts to be
notified for the purpose of direct recruitment, by all the recruiting agencies in the state. The age concession over and above the upper age rimitlhal also be
allowed in accordance with the Rule 12 of the state and subordinate service
Rules.
Provided that nothing in this rule shall apply for direct recruitment to the posts
of Uniform Services viz., Police, Excise, Fire, Prisons, Forest Departments etc., for
which physical standards have been prescribed in the State and Subordinate service
Rules or in the relevant Special or Ad-hoc rules.
