Apex Predators (1st Crawl of 2026)

Описание: Got my 3 line slayers out on the rocks for the first time of 2026. All of these rigs are either new or a complete overhaul so it was awesome getting them back out to Cap Santes rocks to see what's what.

Rachera (4m Tarantula) is back from the dead after being down for almost a year because I just didn't have time to fit/ rebuild her. I found the motivation after building my first Apex and realized she needs a comeback with an evolution. Wider axles, cut 150 grams of weight, and upped the the forward bias by 8%!

Chisato (Apex BUG24) has evolved from the last vid with new tires, more overdrive, some weight bias tuning, and a lighter BUG24 body.

Nagi (Apex IR60) in her YT debut, and she is fully stretched on Ascent18 Front links and 4m Rear Links. I wanted to try a heavier build with more stretch and ultra low CG. She did not disappoint.

I'd say in the end all 3 of these rigs are very evenly matched. There are definitely spots where each of them shine over the other 2, as well as struggle. I think I need to make a couple tweaks to the Bug (Too much Overdrive) and the IR60 (A bit more front bias), but the Tarantula is damn near perfect. There were 2 lines its strait axles struggled with against the Apex's portals, but there were 4 lines she aced that the Apex's didn't have the wheelbase and reach on the front axle to pull themselves up. The higher CG of the portals can be addressed, but its hard to beat the ultra low CG of a strait axle if there's nothing to get hung up on.

There is be something to be said for breakover (which is all Apex guys seem to talk about), but if the underbelly is smooth, having the front axle planted to reach out, find that traction, and pull you up is always better than having the nose go light, and relying on the rear axle to push.
