For the past 100 years, humanity has lived within giant walls to protect itself from the Titans, giant lumbering beasts with a taste for human flesh. When the Titans suddenly smash through the wall, it forever changes the destinies of Eren, Mikasa and Armin, three childhood friends who sign up to try to defeat the Titans once and for all.
Our explainer goes over Eren's motivation and the Survey Corps which includes adoptive sister Mikasa and childhood friend Armin. The origin of the Titans is detailed and it's connection to Eren's father, Grisha Yeager.
