Resonance :
•For many molecules and ions, no single Lewis structure provides a truly accurate representation
•Example - There are three Lewis structures for the carbonate ion
•Many molecules and ions are best described by writing two or more Lewis structures and considering the real molecule or ion to be a composite of these structures. These structures are called Resonance Structures.
•The negative charge is distributed equally among the three oxygens as shown in the electrostatic potential map
الرنين:
• بالنسبة للعديد من الجزيئات والأيونات، لا تُقدم بنية لويس واحدة تمثيلًا دقيقًا تمامًا.
• مثال: هناك ثلاث بنى لويس لأيون الكربونات.
• يُمكن وصف العديد من الجزيئات والأيونات بشكل أفضل بكتابة بنيتين أو أكثر من بنى لويس، واعتبار الجزيء أو الأيون الحقيقي مُركّبًا من هذه البنى. تُسمى هذه البنى بنى الرنين.
• تتوزع الشحنة السالبة بالتساوي بين ذرات الأكسجين الثلاث، كما هو موضح في خريطة الجهد الكهروستاتيكي.
