The Buddha instituted the Dhamma Vinaya of the wise.
Since his Parinibbana, it has been very carefully & faithfully handed down from one generation of teachers to the next generation of students. The duty of any teacher is to hand on the Dhamma Vinaya as carefully as he or she has received it.
If teachers do not do this work carefully & accurately, the Buddha’s original teachings will be lost.
There will be no experienced students, & in turn no more qualified teachers who can preserve the tradition & hand it on to further generations.
To know the value of the Dhamma, one must practice it first.
After it had been well practiced, it can be taught properly. If it is properly taught, it will continue to flourish.
If the practice of Dhamma does not disappear, beings will be happy.
This happiness is the value & the meaning of the Dhamma.
