Media relations emphasizes strong relationships with public media organizations. A media relations team frequently communicates directly with outside news organizations, providing them with company news, verified content sources, and making themselves available for public comment on other news stories.
Production relations are directly tied to a company's direct activities. This division supports overall marketing strategies and frequently works on specialized, one-off projects like managing the introduction of a new product, a unique campaign, or a significant product change.
Investor relations is the management of the company's relationships with its investors. This part of public relations handles activities related to investors, tells investors when financial reports are coming out, and handles complaints from investors.
Internal relations are the branch of public relations between an organization and its personnel. Internal relations include counseling employees, making sure everyone is happy with their work environment, and solving problems within the company so that people don't complain to the public.
Government relations serve as the link between a business and relevant governing entities. Some public relations departments try to get close to political figures so they can give them feedback, persuade decision-makers to take certain actions, and make sure the firm's clients are treated fairly.
Community relations is a form of public relations that focuses on a company's brand and reputation within a particular community. The community may be physical (such as a particular city) or virtual (the dog-owner community). This part of public relations looks at the social niche of a group to find out how to connect with its members.
Customer relations serve as a link between a business and its clients. In public relations, it is common to manage important relationships, do market research, understand client goals, and respond to deep concerns.
