We were under an extreme cold weather alert in Ontario, Canada, but that didn’t stop us from trying to cook breakfast over an open fire in our backyard.
We couldn’t travel this week, but Canadian winter is an experience, so we brought the adventure home.
While my husband and kids were shoveling snow and playing outside, I attempted sausage and egg McMuffin style breakfast sandwiches and pancakes during a polar vortex. The fire went out twice, snow kept landing on the food, and everything froze the second it came off the grill.
