Sydney to Kakadu Birding trip

Описание: Join me on an fabulous birdwatching road trip to Kakadu National Park in Australia’s Northern Territory, filmed in September, at the end of the dry season when shrinking wetlands concentrate wildlife in spectacular numbers. Over six weeks travelling north through New South Wales, Queensland and the outback, we first explore Boodjamulla National Park and the on to the Kakadu wetlands, rivers and escarpments that become magnets for birds at this time of year.

In this video you’ll see huge flocks of waterbirds, close encounters with magpie geese, whistling ducks, egrets, jacanas and herons, and rare highlights including Gouldian finches and Kakadu endemics such as the Sandstone Shrike-thrush and Chestnut-quilled Rock-pigeon. Filmed at iconic locations like Mamukala Wetlands, Yellow Water, Cahills Crossing and Burrungkuy (Nourlangie), this journey captures Kakadu at this special season just before the rains.
