Ingredients
For Masala

Oil – 2–3 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Cloves – 4–5
Black cardamom – 2
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Onion (chopped) – 1
Dry coconut slices – 2 tbsp
Green chillies (chopped) – 2
Sesame seeds – 2 tbsp
For Chicken
Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion (sliced) – ½
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Tomato (chopped) – 1
Salt – to taste
Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Chicken curry cut – 250 g
Poha – 1½ cups
Coriander (chopped) – 2 tbsp
Lemon juice – ½ lemon
Water – as required

For Garnish
Coriander leaves – a few sprigs
Green chilli – 1 (slit)
Lemon wedge – 1

Method
Prepare the Masala
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, cloves, black cardamom, and black pepper. Sauté for 30 seconds.
Add onion, dry coconut slices, green chillies, and sesame seeds. Sauté until the mixture turns light brown.
Remove from the pan, transfer to a mixer jar, add a little water, and grind into a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Cook the Chicken
Heat oil in a pan. Add sliced onion, ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomato, and salt. Sauté for 1 minute.
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder. Sauté for 30 seconds.
Add the ground masala paste, mix well, and cook for 6–8 minutes.
Add chicken pieces, mix, and cook for about 10 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
Spread poha evenly over the chicken. Add chopped coriander, lemon juice, and sprinkle a little water.
Cover and cook on low flame for 2–3 minutes.
Serve

Transfer to a serving plate.
Garnish with coriander leaves, slit green chilli, and a lemon wedge.
Serve hot.
