2-2 Slider again. Tried to back door it and Missed. d’Arnaud is not giving in to chasing the Slider out of the zone. He is yet to swing at one

3-2 All The money is on the table! Runners are on the move, a ball in the gap will tie the game.

What did we not see in this at bat? A Fastball inside. Every pitch was relatively down and away or in the dirt. No changing eye levels, and no concern with having to protect against both sides of the plate.
So don’t be afraid to jackknife a hitter.
d’Arnaud was looking away the entire at bat.
It was not in his thought process, as Chapman never established inside. He never showed it.
This made him very comfortable against a guy throwing this hard.
That’s why he had some good swings on the back to back fastballs at 1-2 he fouled off. And didn’t bite on the next 2 Sliders to work the count full.
