The district court of Eastern Uusimaa has issued a verdict in a case where a man was accused of murdering his wife in Tikkurila, Vantaa.

Suwarisge Thilakasiri was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
In addition, the man was sentenced to compensate the other parties involved with nearly 90,000 euros for the suffering.

The defense argues that the act was not premeditated murder but a spontaneous reaction provoked by the wife's behavior. The husband admitted to the killing but claimed his intention was only to scare his wife into ending her relationship with the other man and focusing on their family.
