In Milan, I arrived on the Feast of the Foundation Stone of the Cathedral — the magnificent Duomo.
The Cathedral was closed to tourists, but a guard recognised my collar and welcomed me with,
“Padre, buongiorno! Please come in.”

Inside, I participated in the Bishop’s Mass, surrounded by immense marble pillars, candlelight, and the powerful voices of the choir.
After the Mass, a woman beside me said,
“Padre, this is the first time I’ve ever sat next to a priest during Mass.”
A beautiful reminder that sometimes presence itself becomes ministry.

From Milan, the pilgrimage continued to Magenta, the hometown of St. Gianna Beretta Molla — a modern pro-life saint, a doctor, a wife, and a mother.

In Magenta, I visited:
✨ Her parish church, where she prayed and was married
✨ Her medical clinic, where she served with compassion
✨ Her cemetery, where she rests in a place of dignity, symmetry, and deep peace

Her heroic choice is known around the world:
“If you must decide between me and the baby, choose the baby.”
She gave her life so that her daughter could live.

Standing before her resting place, I prayed for the grace to love with the same courage and generosity.

This episode is a journey from the grandeur of faith in the cathedral
to the quiet holiness of a mother who lived love until the end.
