Why do music and concerts feel like therapy, like a safe space, where you can truly be yourself and feel understood?
In this video, I explore how music became an emotional language for so many girls and young women - a space where feelings were allowed to exist before we had the words for them. From blasting songs alone in your room to screaming lyrics at concerts with thousands of strangers, music offered connection, comfort, and identity in ways conversations sometimes couldn’t.
We talk about girlhood, emotions, growing up too fast, and why artists like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo or Harry Styles mattered so deeply to a generation. This is not about blaming parents or romanticizing pop culture, but about understanding how music stepped in alongside family, school and society - translating emotions, offering belonging and shaping how we learned to feel.
The video also reflects on the music industry, relatability as a business model, parasocial relationships, and the pressure young audiences face today - without turning it into a lecture or a self-help guide. It’s a conversation about growing up, emotional honesty, community, and why music can feel like therapy without replacing real human connection.
