Ripoll mosque denounces Spain attacks

Описание: (19 Aug 2017) The president of a mosque in the northern Spanish town of Ripoll told the Associated Press on Saturday that an iman, suspected of involvement in this week's attacks in Spain, quit the mosque three months ago because he went to Morocco.
"The imam was normal. Regular. Like imams in all other mosques," said Ali Yassine.
Yassine added that he hadn't noticed anything unusual happening in the mosque and would have been the first to alert police if he had.
On Friday police searched the apartment of an imam from Ripoll, named as Abdelbaki Es Satty.
An apparent search warrant authorised police to remove any terrorism-related "weapons, ammunition, explosives, instruments, documents or papers".
Most of the main suspects in this week's twin vehicle attacks were Moroccans from Ripoll.
The attacks in Barcelona and the seaside resort of Cambrils left 14 people dead and over 120 injured.
The Muslim community in Ripoll has condemned the two deadly attacks.
In a notice posted on a Ripoll mosque Saturday, the Annour Islamic Community of Ripoll said it wanted to offer its sympathy to the families of the victims and its solidarity with Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain.
