Maharashtra is in mourning as Deputy Chief Minister and senior political heavyweight Ajit Pawar has tragically passed away in a plane crash. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning at approximately 8:45 AM as his chartered aircraft was attempting to land at the Baramati Airport. The Incident: Ajit Pawar was traveling from Mumbai to his home constituency, Baramati, for a series of election campaign meetings. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the aircraft—a Learjet 45 (VT-SSK) operated by VSR Aviation—lost control during the landing approach and crashed on the runway. Tragically, there were no survivors. Along with Ajit Pawar, four others lost their lives in the crash, including: Two members of his personal staff (a Security Officer and an Attendant). Two pilots (the Pilot-in-Command and the First Officer).
