On June 18, 2024 I solo hiked to Boss and Hunt Lakes in the San Isabel National Forest. The trailhead is off of highway 50 just west of Salida Colorado. This is a very steep hike but well worth the effort to both Boss and Hunt Lakes. The first mile + is a 4X4 road for only high clearance vehicles. There is a parking lot at the top where the trailhead begins. I had to park at the lower lot. This was a beautiful hike and day! 9 miles and 2145 of elevation gain. Be sure to watch my video to Waterdog Lakes. We hiked it the day before.
