Energy & Buildings | Climate Action Implementation Programme in Latin America

Описание: The effects of buildings on the climate crisis must be taken seriously and addressed immediately to ensure the wellbeing of future generations. Medellín in Colombia hosted in March 2025 the Regional Municipal Building Decarbonization Academy. Delegates from 11 cities engaged in discussions on the future of energy-efficient urban planning, bringing together 25+ city representatives from Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa to strengthen capacities, exchange knowledge, and develop strategies to accelerate public building decarbonization.

Cities in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa are turning strategies into wider implementation, with bold climate policies and actions to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, creating resilient and liveable cities for their residents. With the funding from the UK government and in collaboration with C40 Cities, these cities are addressing the climate crisis through transformational climate action implementation to enhance energy efficiency and expand the adoption of renewable energy in buildings.
