All images and recordings were made by artist Clare Hedin during a 2-month residency in Venice, Italy.

"My muses were the winter motions of water, wind, light, and sounds experienced in the urban life of the city, the lagoon and the surrounding islands. I focused on listening and relating to the natural elements of everyday life in a city of many tempos and a complexity of unique inhabitants and patterns. Paying attention to the reflections of buildings , working boats, the water, allowed me a unique perspective to draw the viewer into its interweaving... noticing that which often remains unseen, as shadows of daily ritual, and yet within which much of life is revealed."
