Ink Demonth Poem 10: Mechanic

Описание: Premise: A lost one known simply as "the Poet" has been running around, recording poetry for all who care to hear. They're twisted and have a questionable sense of humor, but be it singing songs to their Lord or telling stories, they're using their voice to spread a chaotic assortment of rhythms and rhymes.

Today the Poet wonders what happened to Lacie Benton.

Whatever Happened to Lacie?

You know,
I think the little guys are in need of some love.
How about it?
Who’s story shall we tell today?
I think we need one that’s sent from above,
Or, rather below.
Yes, deep below in the carnival storage,
That will do nicely.

Lacie Benton was a bang-up mechanic
Bertrum needed a friend who wasn’t so frantic.
And yes, even Thomas
Could say in good faith
When Lacie was working,
You knew you were safe.
She didn’t care for
The animatronic
And some folks would say
That’s pretty ironic.
Some suspect
That’s where her soul ended up
While others believe
She’s one of the corrupt.
I can’t say I know what happened to her.
For all we know, she got transferred.
I hope she escaped
This hellish mess
For I remember she said
She quite detests
The people that fool around
Down in the underground
And how they’re a mockery
The crockery
That’s destined now to break.
How funny, she was right
We’re like dishes with our blights,
Horribly shattered
By the careless hands
Of Joey Drew.
