Today we are at Schloss Benrath in Düsseldorf, one of Germany’s most beautiful Baroque palaces. We came here to have breakfast in the palace café and to enjoy the atmosphere of this historic place. Benrath was built in the 18th century as a pleasure retreat for Prince-Elector Karl Theodor — not as a permanent residence, but as a place for leisure and short stays.
We’re trying the Kurfürsten Breakfast inside the former gatehouse, taking our time, enjoying the food, and soaking in the calm, elegant setting. Outside, there’s a cozy Christmas market, and behind the palace stretches a long reflecting pond that makes the whole place feel very peaceful.
It’s a beautiful spot for a slow morning — good food, history, and a quiet walk around the palace. Would you enjoy having breakfast in a place like this? 🏰🥐
