Children and adolescents with disabilities are a diverse group, each facing unique challenges due to their impairments. They live in every community, navigating the world with varying degrees of difficulty in seeing, walking, communicating, caring for themselves, or forming friendships.
The ability of these children to thrive, participate fully in society, and lead fulfilling lives hinges on the extent to which they are accommodated and included. Every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the fundamental right to flourish.
Are we doing enough in the Eastern Caribbean to ensure this right? To explore this critical question, we spoke with lifelong women and children's rights advocate, Senator Hazel Thompson-Ahye, on a recent episode of "Children's Rights in Focus."
