NJ Transit 165P Bus Ride: 2021 MCI D4500CT 21367 from New York to Westwood via I-95 & GSP Express

Footage of 2021 MCI D4500CT 21367 operating on the 165P from New York to Cresskill. This was taken during NJT's fare-free week last year, which led to buses seeing higher crowding levels than usual, especially for routes like the 319. There was a lady with kids to my side for most of the ride, and my phone's camera has a weak spot with night time / low-light window shots so apologies in advanced for any fairly noticeable blurs. Normally I am able to course-correct fairly quickly by moving it around but it was largely not an option. Usually I am able to ride most routes out of PABT without anyone sitting next to me however not this time. It was a great time to do fanning, and even besides that the ride overall went pretty smooth.

The 165P one of several super express variants of the 165 route. This variant skips the entire main 165 route south of Oradell Avenue in Oradell, using the Garden State Parkway and stopping at the Exit 165 Park & Ride to/from New York. This is the most "express" variant of the 165, however is not the route which is most different from the main 165 route. That would go to the 165FP, an AM only variant which uses 3rd/4th and Forest Avenues between Westwood RR Station and the Exit 165 Park & Ride Lot. There is no corresponding FP variant in the afternoon; all of the buses via Forest Avenue in the afternoon are Route 4 Expresses (165RF).

The 165 main route operates between Port Authority and Cresskill, via Boulevard East and the communities of Ridgefield Park, Little Ferry, Hackensack, River Edge, Oradell, Emerson and Westwood. During the week there are also multiple variants (primarily on weekdays) in addition to the local: the 165T operates express between Ridgefield Park and New York via the NJ Turnpike / I-95. During the height of the rush hour the other super express variants operate along the route, such as the 165P, 165R, 165FP and 165RF.
