ModCaf's Test Chamber Album and Documentary - LSPXPO 2025

Описание: At the London Synth & Pedal Expo 2025, we caught up with Ben from ModCaf, who shared insights into the community's latest project, the Test Chamber album. This initiative brought together 23 experimental electronic musicians from Aldershot, alongside Adrian Utley of Portishead fame, to record within a massive concrete structure, utilizing its unique acoustics as an instrument.

The recording was captured with an ambisonic microphone and mixed into binaural audio for its commercial release. The accompanying documentary, presented in Dolby Atmos, emphasizes community power and collaboration in music creation.

Impulse responses from the space are available for free download on ModCaf's website. The double album, with a selection personally curated by Utley, is out on vinyl, cassette, and digital via Bandcamp. A trailer for the documentary can also be viewed on their YouTube channel.
