Chappan Dukan, literally “56 shops”, began in the 1970s as a simple cluster of 56 small vendor stalls in the Udasin Ashram Market. Today, it’s a beautifully maintained, award-winning smart food street in Palasia, Indore

Major redevelopment in 2020 by Indore Smart City (₹4 crore), making it a no-vehicle pedestrian zone, with its own radio station launched in 2022 for the first time in MP
