Today, Bob will break down how the new TML Official Plan is affecting docking and boathouse options for property owners. Understanding this could impact the value of your property, so take note—every property is unique!
Under the current rules, you can use up to 25% of your lot’s straight-line frontage for docking and 16% for a boathouse. But with the new TML Official Plan, things are changing. For example, if your lot is under 300 feet of straight-line frontage—even if it’s just 298 feet—you will no longer be able to build a two-storey boathouse with a 650 sq ft sleeping cabin on top. This could affect the value of your property, as the new regulations impose stricter limits on what’s allowed.
