This is the Bible study for Sunday, January 11, 2026. In this study, we focus on John 16:25–33, where Jesus speaks plainly to His disciples about the Father’s love, the reality of suffering in the world, and the peace that is found only in Him.

As part of Jesus’ Farewell Discourse on the night before His crucifixion, these words prepare His disciples for what lies ahead. Jesus acknowledges coming sorrow, confusion, and tribulation, while offering a clear and lasting promise: He has overcome the world. We explore how Christ moves from figures of speech to plain teaching, assures us of the Father’s love, and anchors our faith not in our own strength, but in His finished work.

During this study, we reflect on the difference between the world’s idea of peace and the peace Christ gives. We consider why trials are not a failure of faith, but part of the Christian life, and how Jesus’ victory gives courage, clarity, and hope in the midst of uncertainty.
