The Hook Smart Tip Advantage
In Power Probe Hook Mode the "Smart Tip Advantage" gives you several new powerful tools to help you fix electrical problems faster than any other circuit tester in its class. Why? Because it automatically selects the: RIGHT METER and the RIGHT FUNCTION for the RIGHT CIRCUIT condition.


Smart Tip Voltage Reading
Voltage testing is as easy as contacting the probe tip to a circuit and reading the display. There is no need to select the voltmeter before probing because the PPH does that for you automatically. The Power Probe Hook also provides both the battery source voltage and the probe tip voltage on the display screen for easy voltage comparing.


Smart Tip Resistance Reading
Resistance testing is as easy as contacting the probe tip to a circuit or a component and reading the display. There is no need to select the Ohm Meter before probing because the Power Probe Hook does that for you automatically. It will also auto-range the decimal point.


Smart Tip Component Activation
Activating Electrical Components in Power Probe Hook mode is one of the main features that make the Power Probe Hook very useful. The Power Switch, (+) and (--), behave differently according to the Switch Preferences. Current Draw Testing and Calculated Resistance are dynamic tests that are performed by activating circuits or electrical components with the vehicle's battery power through the Power Probe Hook and measuring the Amps and Ohms. Since the measurements are made while under power you are getting a true indication as to its real operating integrity.


Smart Tip Peak to Peak / Frequency
When testing circuits that generate signals or waveforms, such as primary ignition systems, distributor pick-ups, variable reluctance sensors, fuel metering solenoids, wheel speed, cam and crank sensors, etc. An oscilloscope is the ideal tool. If you don't have an oscilloscope but still need to know if these components are generating a signal, you can use the AC Peak to Peak/Frequency feature of the PPH.


Hot Shot Mode
Load tests power and ground connections and gives you a quick pass or fail result.


Adjustable Circuit Breaker
Can be adjusted and set from 2 amps to 65 amps. This feature lets you work in sensitive circuits to heavy loads with confidence.


Power Switch Preferences
Lets you supply constant power (no more holding the button down), pulse power or momentary power into the circuit you are testing. Maintaining continuous power on a circuit without needing to hold your finger on the power switch is one of the many advantages you will experience by using the Power Probe Hook's latching feature. It's great for testing circuit loads and voltage drop tests. Finding a buried or hidden component can be very time consuming. The Hook's power switch can be set to pulse a components circuit on and off while you devote your attention to searching it out.


Dual Continuity Tester
Will allow you to test multi-pole relay contacts while you simultaneously measure the coil resistance.


Voltage Referance Supply Mode
Supplies from 0 to 5 volts in half volt increments to the probe tip. This feature can provide a known reference (that is good) voltage to simulate sensors. It's a great compliment to your OBD scanner. The display shows both the set voltage and the tip voltage, so you can see if there is a short in the circuit.
