This special collaboration features two stunning performances: a fresh take on "Le Tre Sorelle" from Alla Boara's debut album, and a new interpretation of "Mare Maje" from Ensemble Sangineto's album "World Tour" (that video coming soon!). These arrangements were rehearsed together during the session and what your are witnessing is a live collaboration!

Founded in 2000 by twins Adriano and Caterina Sangineto, this eclectic band beautifully blends ancient harmonies with modern rhythms. Their unique sound combines harp, bowed psaltery, and guitar with mesmerizing three-part vocal harmonies, creating magical atmospheres that are both joyful and ethereal.

This is a popular story that is found throughout Italy in many folk traditions (and even in France). Each region seems to have their own regional take with each region’s idiocentric characteristics shining through. The beginning half is the version found on the Lomax field recordings and the second half is a version that I found from an old LP that seems to have stood the test of time and become one of the more popular version around Italy.
