This iPad Pro 11in Still Wouldn’t Charge After Port Replacement - CD3215 IC Repair Tutorial

Описание: If your iPad is not charging, replacing the charging port may not fix the problem.

In this video, I show the complete diagnostic and repair process of an iPad Pro 11-inch 1st Gen (A1980) that would not charge properly via USB C even after the charging port was replaced.

Using a USB-C PD meter and Mechanic USB-C tester, we identified abnormal readings and confirmed a fault in the charging circuit. After isolating the short, we traced the issue to the USB-C charging controller IC (CD3215) and TriStar (610A3C).

This repair required:

• Advanced board-level diagnostics
• Short circuit isolation
• Safe removal of underfilled ICs
• Pad cleaning and preparation
• Installation of new charging IC and TriStar
• Battery voltage recovery using DC power supply
• Final charging verification at 15V USB-C PD

Once repaired, the iPad returned to normal fast charging and full functionality.

This is the level of board-level repair most shops cannot perform — but it allows full data preservation and avoids replacing the entire device.
