Monsters and Fairies is song about embracing and overcoming insecurities. We all have beauty within us, sometimes we don't see it, but it's always there.
This song is the closest to my heart of all the songs on Oxygen. The lyrics are what helped me through my darkest hours, and I put them in a song hoping to help others who are in a similar position. Mental health is still so stigmatised and untalked about. I want you to know you are valid. Your feelings are valid. And I believe in you. You aren't perfect, but nor is anyone else.
