Speaking with the NLTV,Dr.Sorun said, that Medanta Hospital organsied a free three days medical camp in Kohima in collaboration with the government of Nagaland to create awareness of cancer,involves educating the public about cancer risks,prevention,early detection and treatment options.Cancer is a crucial in combating the disease,as early detection significantly improves treatment outcomes.
Infroming NLTV,she also infromed that Medanta Hospital in signing an MoU with the Nagaland Government for Accreditation to Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CHMIS),that will cover under this scheme even covering cancer treatment.Further she also said that Cancer is on the rise and in Nagaland the most common cancer are Nasopharynx(the small space behind nose) which is mostly caused by smoke food.
Dr.Sorun said the Key aspects of cancer awareness include promoting healthy lifestyle,encouraging regular screenings and dispelled misconception about cancer.
Adopting healthy habits like quitting smoking,limiting alcohol,maintaining a balance diet,and staying physically active can significantly reduce cancer risk and prevent from cancer.
Dr.Sorun also highlighted on the importance of early detection of Breast cancer and treatment options for cancer.
