What is a “Adjunct”?
In grammar it means words that are added to a sentence that aren’t really necessary.
You could take them out.
‘A good example of this was in very many different locations.’
The ‘Very’ is unnecessary, it does not change the sentence dramatically at all.
Because ‘very many’ means the same a ‘many’ it’s just more emphasis.
That’s what an adjust is, you just add something to a sentence that’s not really necessary.
So an adjunct is something that is added on or is less important.
It’s not part of the core.
