The United States Government's message to the AES is simple: “We recognise you as a sovereign nation, and upon this, the United States wants to restore diplomatic ties and return to the Sahel.”
Listen carefully—this is a historic moment that nobody saw coming! The mighty United States is now admitting that how it treated the Sahel a few years back was a huge mistake. They thought they could starve them, they thought they could isolate them, and they thought they could bully their leaders. But that arrogance has backfired! By turning their backs on the AES, they allowed Russia to step into that space and fill it with steel and respect. Today US is ready to battle Russia and China for the soul of the sahel.
As we speak, Russia, Australia, and China are now the only countries that have their companies operating in the mines in the Sahel. But let us be clear: Russia has the bigger seat! They are the ones who didn't run away when the going got tough.
The math of the new Sahel is what is making US lose sleep. Out of the resources produced in most areas in the Sahel, Russia takes 40% because they fund the exploration and the heavy extraction. But the Sahel countries take a massive 50%, and then 10% goes directly into the development of the region where that mine is found. Do you see the wisdom?
