Kid Icarus: Uprising: Part 18: Chapter 16: The Aurum Hive

Описание: Pit was able to destroy the core of the Aurum Army, but there was still much more work to be done before these bizarre invaders could be defeated for sure.

Pit & Palutena continued their truce against Viridi and Hades' armies so they could work together (more or less) to defeat these aliens. They also had additional help from the self-proclaimed sun god Pyrrhon.

AIR BATTLE - (0:31 - 5:22)

Palutena's next mission for Pit was to send him out to eliminate the fleet of the Aurum, next.

Pit was flown through Aurum battleship. Palutena was worry, and planned to pull him away from there. However, Hades saw this an opportunity to raid and loot the Aurum battleships for resources for his Underworld Army.

It is from there that Pit & Palutena located the source of the fleet. A massive space colony of death among the stars! The Aurum Hive!

The Aurum's individual names were actually incomprehensible to say. So Palutena made up some names of her own to call them.

Viridi then realized that some of the Aurum troops were just copies of troops from other armies, such as the Underworld Army.

Infiltrating the colony would involve taking a lower route into them. It was taking more hold that these Aurum were not sentient beings. That a single source was controlling them all.

The battleships had their weakspots exposed thanks to Palutena's powers, and this actually wasn't a joke.

Unfortunately, there was no easy way inside of the Aurum Hive. There was no way to have Pit or Palutena bust into the hive, either.

So Hades took matters into his own hands again... and controlled an Aurum battleship to smash into the hive! Pit is to fly into the destroyed ship as a passageway into the hive.

Hopefully he doesn't get his wings burned off in the process, and not even by exhausting his Power of Flight, this time.

LAND BATTLE - (5:23 - 17:25)

A rouge entrance, but Pit still made it inside the Aurum Hive in one piece. Now it was time to hunt down the hive's power generator.

This hive is also of advanced technology, so it's full of security systems that will detect and eliminate any flightless angels they come across.

One section of this level has you avoiding getting run over by moving Aurum trains. Hide in holes in the walls to avoid them. You may need to tear through them to get into them, too.

Apparently, the Aurum Hive also has hot springs. Viridi was once again concerned if they were safe to settle in. But Pit had to remind her that he's faced so many things more obviously dangerous through the whole game.

Viridi also mocked Pit for using anything he can find on the ground to help him out. From random Aether Rings to eating floor ice cream (which give him health, mind you). Even Palutena had to somewhat agree with Viridi on this weird behavior of her captain.

After an (unintentionally-invisible again) grindrail segment, and more Aurums thrashed. Pit approaches the source of the invaders' fleet.

At last, Pit has reached the Aurum Generator.

This boss right is entirely on grindrails, which is very unfortunate due to my technical difficulties with actually having them show up. At least they still function.

Different grindrails take Pit on different paths that have their own distances from the generator. Take which ever one works best for your current weapon when they grindrails line up. This was rough for me to process, like I was definitely on borrowed time, but the Hewdraw Club worked out in the end.

During this fight, Pyrrhon returned to help Pit out by attacking the generator with his fiery might. He hadn't realized soon enough that the generator itself was already a super-heated source.

All in all, his help was useless and he left Pit to fend for himself.

The Aurum Generator was eventually destroyed. But now there was just one last source to eliminate before the Aurum Hive could be defeated once and for all.

The Aurum Brain... and it looked like Pyrrhon was very eager to hunt it down, first...
