Seraphina spent three days preparing the throne room for the coronation. Polishing every surface, arranging every flower, making everything perfect. She knew she wouldn't be allowed inside for the actual ceremony—albino omegas brought bad luck to sacred events, or so the superstitions claimed.
So when the doors closed and the ceremony began, she stood outside in the hallway. Watching through a crack in the door, catching glimpses of the new king being crowned, invisible and forgotten like always.
Then their eyes met through that narrow gap.
Alpha King Lucian Winterborn—with silver-white hair and pale eyes just like hers—stared directly at her from his throne. And in the middle of his own coronation, in front of every noble in the kingdom, he did something unprecedented.
He stopped everything.
"Someone explain to me," his voice cut through the great hall, "why there is a wolf standing outside these doors."
The head servant stammered about tradition, about superstitions, about how albinos shouldn't attend sacred ceremonies.
Lucian's response was ice-cold: "You excluded someone from my coronation because she shares the same appearance I have?"
Then he looked at her again, and his voice softened. "You. I am asking—not commanding—will you come inside?"
Seraphina entered the throne room barefoot and trembling. Every eye watched as the White Alpha King descended from his throne and met her in the center of the hall.
"Stand beside me," he said. "Where you should have been from the beginning."
She was left outside because they called her cursed. He brought her to his throne and called her his queen.
