Описание: On April 8, we welcomed 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee to Brooklyn College to discuss her life and activism around gender, law, transitional justice, reconstruction, and human rights with President Michelle J. Anderson.

Gbowee is a Liberian activist whose leadership of a nonviolent women’s peace movement played a pivotal role in ending Liberia’s 14-year civil war. She is the president of the Gbowee Peace Foundation of Africa and has been named one of the World’s 50 Greatest Leaders by Fortune.
