There is no waste in nature. If we don’t need something, it disappears. If we need something, it is built up. Just like muscles get bigger when you train them, so this kind of understanding, when you fix the bone, you have to understand the structure and component inside, how to put things together so they will be strong, and bamboo is very similar to human bone. It has a tube outer structure. It is very flexible but strong material.
I think that is where I got a lot inspiration from nature in terms of the structural part but also in terms of the design part.
We find that nature is a great inspiration to design things in the way that catches human mind and it makes things interesting.
Markus advocates architecture that warms people's hearts and makes them smile. His approach is based on modern organic design integrating natural materials such as bamboo with 21st century engineering knowledge and an assimilation of structures in their physical and cultural environments.
