Anjunabeats mainstay SØNIN collaborates with platinum-selling producer JS on their new single, ‘Brighton BOP’.

Finnish DJ and producer Anton Sonin, aka SØNIN, teams up with fellow Helsinki native and trance legend, JS, on ‘Brighton BOP’. Named after the English coastal city, SØNIN recently debuted the track at his Anjunabeats Outdoors show at Brighton’s Concorde 2.

With over a decade of production experience with some of dance music's biggest names, SØNIN is no stranger to breaking into the trance charts. His 2023 debut EP on Anjunabeats, the ‘Affection EP’, flew up the Beatport Top 100 Trance chart, with standout track ‘Passion’ quickly landing at #1. Most recently, SØNIN’s ‘Nano’ also shot to #1 and saw support from more of the genre's top acts like Armin van Buuren, Jason Ross, Ferry Corsten, to name just a few.

Now, SØNIN teams up with platinum-selling producer Jaakko Salovaara, under his new JS moniker. Jaakko is widely renowned for his work on Darude’s smash hit ‘Sandstorm’ in 1999 and Bomfunk MC’s ‘Freestyler’.

"When I was starting out my journey in music industry I met Jaakko through some mutual friends of ours" SØNIN says. "At that time he was one of the most successful nordic dance music producers with songs like 'Sandstorm' and 'Freestyler' under his belt. I ended up helping him out in his studio with productions and he mentored me a lot on songwriting and the power of a great hook in my tracks. I still think he is the master of those simple and catchy hooks that stay in your head for years. It was really fun to work on this one with him after so many years. When were together in the studio, it was like no time has passed and we continued where we left off 10 years ago."

Together, the pair look to reclaim the top spot once again with their latest trance stomper. SØNIN & JS 'Brighton BOP' is out now on Anjunabeats.
