In recent years, low-fee private schools in Ghana have been steadily filling an ever-growing demand for education throughout the country. IDP Foundation has been by the side of these independent education entrepreneurs for the last 13 years, learning and helping them overcome the specific challenges that they face and working side by side with the government to achieve better outcomes together.

There is now less than a decade remaining to achieve SDG4, and the COVID-19 pandemic has put the progress that was being made in increasing access to quality education at risk. The affordable non-state education sector is more vital than ever, something that is receiving increasing recognition from the GEM report and major funders such as USAID. This presents a significant opportunity for public-private partnerships that work with governments to get back on track.

How can we facilitate a more holistic approach that ensures that every child has access to quality education?
