kinderherzen baut die weltweit erste modulare, autarke und mobile herzchirurgische Einheit zur Operation herzkranker Kinder auf höchstem medizinischen Niveau zum Einsatz in Krisenregionen/Entwicklungsländern ohne ausreichende medizinische Behandlungsmöglichkeiten/-strukturen.

Weltweit werden jedes Jahr ca. 1,35 Millionen Kinder mit einem Herzfehler geboren. Dabei entscheidet das Land, in dem sie geboren wurden darüber, ob sie überleben. Denn in Ländern ohne ausreichende medizinische Versorgung, in denen bereits ein einfacher Infekt tödlich enden kann, ist eine anspruchsvolle herzchirurgische Behandlung ausgeschlossen.

Ziel des Projektes ist es, herzkranken Kindern in den betroffenen Ländern auf höchstem medizinischem Niveau mithilfe dringend notwendiger Operationen das Leben zu retten, so dass sie zu glücklichen, möglichst beschwerdefreien Menschen heranwachsen können.
Ein weiteres Ziel ist der Anschub einer nachhaltigen medizinischen Entwicklung durch die Weiterbildung von Ärztinnen, Ärzten und Pflegepersonal. Langfristig erhoffen wir uns einen positiven Einfluss auf eine strukturelle Entwicklung der Partner-Krankenhäuser vor Ort, mit denen wir gemeinsam die Einsätze durchführen.

Die Behandlung und Rettung der herzkranken Kinder wird möglich durch den Einsatz der mobilen kinderherzen-Klinik. Diese eigens neu entwickelte medizinische herzchirurgische Einheit ist beweglich, d.h. sie kann von Deutschland aus in das Einsatzland transportiert werden. Dort platzieren wir sie an einem zuvor genau festgelegten Standort in direkter Nähe zum Partnerkrankenhaus, dessen Strukturen wir beim Einsatz mitnutzen (u.a. Blutbank, ggfs. Wasseranschluss, einheimisches Pflegepersonal, Ärzte, etc.).

kinderherzen builds the world's first modular, self-sufficient and mobile cardiac surgical unit for the operation of children with heart disease at the highest medical level for use in crisis regions / developing countries without adequate medical treatment options / structures.

Worldwide, around 1.35 million children are born with a heart defect every year. The country in which you were born decides whether you survive. In countries without sufficient medical care, where a simple infection can be fatal, demanding cardiac surgery treatment is impossible.

The aim of the project is to save heart-sick children in the affected countries at the highest medical level with the help of urgently needed surgeries so that they can grow up to be happy and as symptom-free as possible.
Another goal is to stimulate sustainable medical development through the further training of doctors and nursing staff. In the long term, we hope to have a positive impact on the structural development of the partner hospitals on site, with whom we will carry out the missions.

The treatment and rescue of children with heart disease is made possible by the use of the mobile children's heart clinic. This specially developed medical cardiac surgical unit is mobile, i.e. it can be transported from Germany to the country of use. There we place them at a previously specified location in close proximity to the partner hospital, the structures of which we also use in the operation (e.g. blood bank, water connection if necessary, local nursing staff, doctors, etc.).
