Starfleet command sends the Defiant to an abandoned colony and outpost on Qu'vat. Intelligence indicate that the shipyards there are being used by a Klingon dissident group to commit raids into Federation space. The Defiant utilizing its cloaking technology is sent to investigate and if possible eliminate any dissident threat.
After an investigation of the sector and finding little evidence of any hostile Klingon presence, Sisko decloaks his ship hoping that a valuable prize such as the Defiant may flush out some game.
