"Balsamo Collins Riley" Return with New Single & Video “Three Ring Circus”.

Acclaimed singer-songwriters Steve Balsamo, Andy Collins, and Pete Riley - each with impressive careers as solo artists and band members - have joined forces once again under the banner Balsamo Collins Riley to release their powerful new single and video, “Three Ring Circus.”

Following the success of their 2023 debut EP, this new track blends soaring harmonies, top-tier musicianship, and pointed lyricism. According to BCR, “Three Ring Circus is a response to a world that feels like it’s losing its way… like we’re living in a clown show.”

Their creative collaborative spark was ignited during lockdown via a weekly Zoom songwriting club. “We gave ourselves just a few hours each Monday to turn fragments of lyrics and melodies into full songs,” says Steve. “It was fun, focused, and yielded some of our strongest material yet.”

I think what makes it work so well is that we are all inspired and influenced by similar artists,” adds Pete.
Andy explains, “In a writing session, it's almost telepathic - the way we finish each other’s lyric sentences and chord progressions.”

Following their debut EP Twice in a Blue Moon, and buoyed by the enthusiastic response to the project and some great radio play, Balsamo Collins Riley reconvened with fresh ideas. The new material was recorded at both Sonic Executive Studios in Swansea with Tim Hamill and at Pete’s home studio in Liverpool.

“We feel the new upcoming EP is a leap forward in songcraft for all of us - bringing together some of our strongest songs to date and featuring a few special musical guests too,” says Steve.
Andy adds, “Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens, longtime keyboard player and musical director for Paul McCartney, brings his magic to several songs.”
“Nigel Hopkins, keyboard player and producer for Chris De Burgh, plays some incredible piano and Hammond, and Gavin Griffiths of Fish’s band plays fabulous drums,” says Pete.
The Trio’s Musical Legacy:

Pete Riley cut his teeth with Treehouse (Atlantic Records), toured the U.S. with Hootie & The Blowfish and Edwin McCain, and co-wrote multiple albums with Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud).
Steve Balsamo and Andy Collins were founding members of The Storys, a Welsh country-rock band praised by Elton John, who took them on tour across Europe. They also opened for Celine Dion, Santana, and Joe Cocker, to name a few.

Now reuniting as Balsamo Collins Riley, the group is gaining fresh traction on Spotify playlists alongside legends like Mike + The Mechanics, Paul Carrack, Steve Winwood, and Bruce Hornsby.
With a new EP dropping soon, the journey continues - and the circus has only just begun.
